How Can I Apply for Canada visa after rejection?

Undoubtedly, Canada is a great place to live, work or study. As a result, every year, it receives visa applications from different corners of the world in bulk. However, unfortunately, many of those get rejected or refused by the Canadian department. Reasons for rejection may vary according to the type of visa application and clearly mention in the rejection letter.

For instance, in the case of the student visa, an applicant needs to provide a letter of acceptance from a Canadian university or college, where he/she is going to pursue his/her further studies. If he/she fails to meet this requirement of the program, the immigration department will never approve the application.

Similarly, if it’s a Canada business visa and an applicant fails to provide funds for a minimum investment or personal worth, then refusal visa application will come as a result.

Other common reasons may include false or fake information, delay in payment of processing fee, failure to meet medical conditions or international security standards and more.

So if you have received a letter in the mail from Canadian immigration authority for rejected or refused visa application, then instead of losing hope, you may request an appeal or reconsideration after rejection according to your case.

Appealing can be beneficial after Canada visa rejection if your legal immigration consultant has some hope of getting refusal overturned in your case. Like, if you have submitted the incomplete or incorrect application form, then, in that case, you can appeal to complete or correct things with a good explanation for why you have missed this information at the time of the earlier submission.

In addition to this, remember, there is a short window of time for appealing so make sure, you armed with the correct reason of rejection and then accordingly choose your way to deal it. In case, you don’t understand the reason for rejection, do an Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) to get complete information on the same.

To fill the ATIP, the mandatory requirements are:
  • An individual must be either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; or,
  • If he/she is a foreign national, then it is necessary for him/her to be physically present in Canada; or,
  • If he/she is a foreign national and unable to come to Canada, then he/she needs a representative who can fill AITP for him/her and it requires a consent form from an applicant

So once you fulfill the above requirements, then you need to visit ATIP homepage where you get the option to choose your preferred language and the department to submit the request. Fill the required details there along with your valid e-mail id. At the final stage of processing request, you need to upload documents and consent form (if required). Check you're filled credentials and make the payment of the fee for ATIP. Your requested department will process your ATIP request, and in general, it will not take more than 30 days.
